Lenten Rose, also known as Helleborus Orientalis, is a perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family, native to Greece and Turkey. Many thoughtfully chosen botanicals planted by previous caretakers still flourish throughout the property which we cherish and preserve as a part of Hearthstone's history.
Throughout the grounds, several species of magnolia trees mark the changing seasons by erupting with gorgeous, fragrant blossoms every spring. Their spectacular blooms transform the landscape and feel truly magical!
During restoration, hundreds of metal plant tags were uncovered around Hearthstone, each carefully identifying all of the flourishing greenery. These markers reveal the intention behind the landscape's design and serve as a lasting record of the care and knowledge invested in the property before us.
